Bishan Singh Bedi Family Recall Him Fondly

MUMBAI — On the birth anniversary of legendary cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi, actor Neha Dhupia shared heartfelt memories of her children with their late grandfather, honoring his enduring legacy and the special bond he shared with the family.

Dhupia posted a series of photos capturing cherished moments with Bedi—alongside his son Angad Bedi, Neha herself, and their children. One shows the cricket icon sitting with his wife, another captures him in a park with Neha and the grandchildren, while a third brings the entire family together, with Bedi smiling as he enjoys a glass of lassi. She captioned the post simply: “In our hearts forever.”

Angad Bedi also paid tribute to his father, marking the day with throwback images on Instagram. His post included snapshots from Bedi’s cricketing days—one with ball in hand as he surveys the field, another mid-delivery. Personal moments featured too, including a candid father-son photo and a picture from Angad’s wedding. “Happy birthday pitaji!! May you always be tossing it up!! 25th Sept 1946..” he wrote.

Bishan Singh Bedi, regarded as one of India’s greatest spin bowlers, represented the country in Test cricket from 1966 to 1979. A key figure in the legendary Indian spin quartet, he captained the national team in 22 Tests, playing 67 matches in total and claiming 266 wickets.

The cricketing legend passed away on October 23, 2023, following prolonged health struggles and multiple surgeries.  (IANS)
