Dr. Nirav Shah Becomes Second-in-Command At CDC
NEW YORK, NY (IANS) – Indian American doctor Nirav D. Shah, who played a pivotal role during the Covid-19 pandemic, has been appointed Principal Deputy Director at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Shah, 45, who serves as the Director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC), will report to CDC Director Rochelle Walensky in his new role starting in March.
“In my new role, I will be honored to serve not just Maine, but the entire nation and carry forward the good work that we have done here. As I prepare for this next step, I thank the people of Maine for taking care of me, as I’ve always asked them to take care of each other,” he said in a statement.
Shah was appointed to Maine CDC in 2019 with the mission of rebuilding the agency and the State’s public health infrastructure.
“Dr Shah has been a trusted advisor to me and an extraordinary leader of the Maine CDC. But even more than that, he was a trusted advisor and a leader to the people of Maine during one of the greatest public health crises of our time,” Maine Governor Janet Mills wrote in a tweet.
She added in her statement that Shah spoke calmly and directly to the people of Maine, many of whom were scared and uncertain, and answered their questions with “compassion, empathy, humor, and clarity”.
Shah’s appointment as Principal Deputy Director comes as part of a planned, broader overhaul of that agency announced by the US CDC Director in August of last year.
Born to Indian immigrants, Shah grew up in Wisconsin, and attended the University of Louisville where he majored in psychology and biology.
He studied economics at Oxford University and enrolled in medical school at the University of Chicago in 2000. Shah completed his Juris Doctor in 2007 and his Doctor of Medicine in 2008 — both from the University of Chicago and was a recipient of The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans.

Contrary to popular belief, almost all physicians in government have degrees but have no license to practice medicine because they have not passed their Board exams.
1) A waste of valuable resource
2) Too much mouth and no substance; a new FAUCI religion
3) Too much power to tell the ones that practice medicine on how they should practice medicine that they were denied for not passing exams.
Much like our Indian Education Ministers!

Do you have any concept of how much law and policy is involved in public health? Public health law is a specialized area of law where we need more training clinicians and public health practitioners to have dual degrees. A law degree doesn’t mean that you need to be litigating cases every day, but Dr. Shah was a practicing health law attorney before he was appointed to lead the Illinois department of health.

Many phyiscians working in public health roles in government at board certified in preventive medicine. It is an area of medical specialization that focuses on the health of populations rather than individuals. Preventive medicine physicians are a crucial part of the US public health infrastructure.

Paula – these so called officials work for Big Pharma. They DO NOT CARE for the people. Look at how many people are dying of heart attacks and strokes from the jab and yet the CDC / FDA are not doing a single thing! Its a shame because PHARMA controls the CDC / FDA. For you to even defend Mr. Shah (yeah MR. because he isn’t a doctor in my eyes) is a shame because you are part of the problem and not the solution!! These public health officials are just fulfilling a narrative and are not fighting it but accepting it. So while these poor kids who are forced to take the jab or else they cannot go to school is just sickening at best…. And not one person at the CDC or FDA is coming to the aid of the common people. They are shills for Big Pharma PERIOD. END OF STORY. The only way this works is if you doctors are not so scared of loosing your jobs and stand up and do the right thing! Such a sad world we live in because I DO NOT TRUST ANY DOCTOR ANYMORE!!!!
