Gujarat, Karnataka, TN, Kerala, Ranked Best States For Startups

NEW DELHI, (IANS) – In a recent startup awards ceremony held on January 16, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu emerged as the top-performing states in India.

The startup ranking for 2022, unveiled by Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on January 16, highlighted these states for their commendable efforts in fostering a conducive environment for the growth of startups and nurturing budding entrepreneurs.

The rankings, compiled by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, a division under the Ministry of Commerce, assessed a total of 33 states and Union Territories across five distinct categories.

Apart from the best-performing quartet, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Telangana were recognized as top performers.

The categories included in the assessment are best performers, top performers, leaders, aspiring leaders, and emerging startup ecosystems, providing a comprehensive view of the diverse efforts aimed at promoting entrepreneurship across the nation.
