Hridaynath Mangeshkar Envisions Museum, Hospital, Dedicated To Sisters
MUMBAI –In a twin tribute to India’s most revered musical family, composer Hridaynath Mangeshkar and the Maharashtra state government have announced major projects aimed at honoring the legacy of legendary singer and recently deceased Asha Bhosle.
Hridaynath Mangeshkar revealed plans to construct what he envisions as Asia’s largest hospital in memory of both of his sisters, Asha, as well as Lata Mangeshkar, noting that the family has already secured a significant land parcel for the ambitious endeavor. Speaking to the media, he expressed his hope for the project’s scale, stating that they have taken the necessary steps and are now leaving the ultimate success of the venture to God.
Alongside the medical facility, the family intends to build a museum dedicated to the Mangeshkar musical heritage. This museum is expected to feature interactive spaces designed for music education, allowing visitors to engage directly with the family’s artistic history.
Complementing these private efforts, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on April 13 that the state government will move forward with establishing a music institute based on a vision proposed by Asha Bhosle herself. The decision was formalized during a State Cabinet meeting where members paid tribute to the iconic playback singer.
Fadnavis confirmed that the government remains committed to realizing the proposal previously submitted by Bhosle, ensuring that every necessary step is taken to make the music institution a reality. (IANS)
