LOS ANGELES, CA – The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) has named award-winning producer and studio executive Anjay Nagpal as its new Executive Director.

The festival’s 24th edition is scheduled to take place April 23–26, 2026, with submissions for the Shorts Competition opening October 22, 2025.

Nagpal, known for his work on acclaimed films such as ‘Greyhound’, ‘Bombshell’, ‘The Green Knight’, ‘Joker’, and ‘The Survivor’, brings extensive experience in financing, production, and global distribution.

As a producer on Dev Patel’s ‘Monkey Man’ and a developer of projects including a Mughal Empire series and adaptations of ‘Cutting for Stone’ and ‘Last Man in Tower’, Nagpal has been a consistent advocate for South Asian narratives in global cinema, a statement said. His career also includes discovering early works by filmmakers such as Jon Watts (‘Cop Car’), Julia Ducournau (‘Raw’), and Justin Tipping (‘Kicks’).

“I’ve long admired IFFLA, first as a fan and later as a participant in its Industry Days program,” Nagpal said. “Christina Marouda has built a remarkable platform for South Asian and diaspora filmmakers, and I’m honored to collaborate with her and the IFFLA team to elevate its global reach.”

Welcoming Nagpal to the organization, IFFLA Founder and Board Chair Christina Marouda told reporters, “Anjay’s deep understanding of the film industry, his respect for IFFLA’s legacy, and his collaborative approach make him an ideal leader to shape the festival’s next chapter.”

Established in 2002, IFFLA has become a leading U.S. platform for independent South Asian cinema, fostering dialogue between filmmakers from the region, the diaspora, and the international film industry.
