Indian Student Found Dead, Probe On

NEW YORK, NY –  The Consulate General of India in New York reported the passing of another Indian student studying in the US on April 5. The student, identified as Uma Satya Sai Gadde, was studying in Cleveland, Ohio.

In a statement, the Consulate General said, “Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student in Cleveland, Ohio. Police investigation is underway. @IndiainNewYork continues to remain in touch with the family in India. All possible assistance is being extended, including to transport Mr. Uma Gadde’s mortal remains to India at the earliest.”

The incident marks the tenth such occurrence involving Indian students in the United States since the beginning of 2024.

These incidents have sparked widespread apprehension among the Indian community in America. The Consulate General of India in New York and other Indian diplomatic missions across the United States have been actively engaging with Indian students to address their concerns and ensure their well-being.
