NEW DELHI (ANI) – In a historic move at the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction, Lucknow Super Giants acquired Rishabh Pant for ₹27 crore, making him the most expensive player in IPL history. This remarkable bid surpassed the previous record set by Punjab Kings, who had briefly held the record after purchasing Shreyas Iyer for ₹26.75 crore. Here are the top acquisitions from the auction:

Rishabh Pant
Pant became the most expensive player in IPL auction history with a whopping ₹27 crore. He will represent Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) this season, leaving behind his captaincy role with Delhi Capitals (DC).

Shreyas Iyer
Last year’s IPL-winning captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will now play for Punjab Kings (PBKS). His services were secured for ₹26.75 crore.

Venkatesh Iyer
Iyer will continue with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after being retained in the auction for ₹23.75 crore.

Arshdeep Singh
The left-arm pacer will once again don the Punjab Kings (PBKS) jersey, retained using the Right to Match (RTM) card for ₹18 crore.

Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal will feature for Punjab Kings (PBKS) this season after being purchased for ₹18 crore.
