Over 200 Former Republican Officials Endorse Harris
WASHINGTON DC (ANI) – Ahead of the presidential elections, more than 200 Republicans who previously worked for former President George W Bush, penned an open letter on August 26 endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president instead of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, Fox News reported.
The group has endorsed Kamala Harris, urging “moderate Republicans and conservative independents” to support her.
This group had previously opposed Trump in the 2020 election too.
“Four years ago, President George W Bush, the late Sen John McCain, and then-Gov Mitt Romney alumni came together to warn fellow Republicans that re-electing President Trump would be a disaster for our nation. In those declarations we stated the plain truth, each predicting that another four years of a Trump presidency would irreparably damage our beloved democracy,” the letter said, which was published on August 26 in USA Today.
“We reunite today, joined by new George HW Bush alumni, to reinforce our 2020 statements and, for the first time, jointly declare that we’re voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov Tim Walz this November,” the letter added.
While acknowledging significant policy disagreements with Kamala Harris, the Republican officials emphasized that the alternative is untenable. “Of course, we have plenty of honest, ideological disagreements with Vice President Harris and Gov. Walz. That’s to be expected. The alternative, however, is simply untenable,” the letter said.

They may as well vote for Trump as Harris seems to have copied most of his policies and even wants to build a border wall!

November 5 is a little over two months away, and we have a lot at stake in its outcome. I came to this country as a 21-year-old and was afforded the finest of higher education opportunities. Following that I had a long and meaningful career in healthcare and hospital administration. At every step of the way, I was never challenged about my national origin, the colour of my skin, or my religion. I believe that this is true of most of our Desi community.
Donald Trump and his MAGA followers and the infamous Project 2025 could potentially stifle any future contributions that our community could make to the nation by negatively impacting immigration. During his time in office, Trump spoke about the possibility of “denaturalizing” naturalized citizens for reasons that were obscure. Stephen Miller – remember that name? Mr. Miller was one of Trump’s most trusted advisors on immigration policy. He has a well-known hatred of anyone who is non-white – hmmm, that would be people who look like you and me!! He was and will again be the architect of restricting every type of legal immigration imaginable.
There are numerous other reasons to vote against a second term for Donald Trump: protecting women’s rights and voting rights, saving healthcare and stopping gun violence amongst others.
The choice is clear: Kamala Devi Harris and Tim Walz as the Democratic nominees for President and Vice-President will respect our Desi community and all for which we stand. Freedom and Democracy!
So, my plea to you, my fellow Desis, is to please VOTE for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on November 5 so that we can continue to contribute to this country and be seen as citizens who stand for democratic values and the rule of law.
