Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Citadel’ Season 2 Delayed To 2026

LOS ANGELES, CA (ANI)- Priyanka Chopra-starrer Citadel Season 2, initially set for a 2025 release, has been postponed to spring 2026 due to ongoing production challenges.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon MGM is reportedly dissatisfied with the current version of the second season, leading to delays. Additionally, all Citadel spinoff series are now on hold, with no confirmed return date for the franchise.

The spy series was originally planned as a global franchise with multiple international spinoffs, including Citadel: Diana (Italy) and Citadel: Honey Bunny (India). While these spinoffs have performed well regionally, further development is paused until Season 2 is finalized.

The series has faced issues since its inception, with the first season undergoing expensive reshoots and budget overruns, bringing its cost to $235 million. Despite mixed reviews, the show was renewed for a second season.

Filming for Season 2 wrapped in November 2023, but Amazon MGM is making changes to improve the final product. The situation is further complicated by the recent removal of Jennifer Salke, the former Amazon MGM head who initially backed the Citadel project.

The first season of Citadel featured Priyanka Chopra alongside Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Rahul Kohli.

Meanwhile, the Indian spinoff Citadel: Honey Bunny, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, premiered on November 7 last year.
