Ramaswamy Wants Trump Reinstated In Colorado Or He Will…
COLORADO (ANI) – Republican Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has vowed to withdraw from the GOP primary ballot in Colorado. This decision comes in response to a recent ruling by the state’s Supreme Court, which removed former President Donald Trump from the ballot due to his involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
In a narrow 4-3 decision, Colorado’s highest court invoked the 14th Amendment’s ‘insurrection clause’ to kick off Trump.
The court concluded that Trump’s actions, including spreading false claims of election fraud and directing supporters to the Capitol, amounted to engaging in insurrection. Colorado has thus become the first state to prevent Trump from seeking the presidency based on his role in the Capitol attack, The Hill reported.
The insurrection clause bars the holding of “any office…under the United States” if a person engaged in insurrection after swearing to “support” the Constitution as an “officer of the United States.” The Colorado Supreme Court determined that this clause applies to the office of the president, the report added.
“I pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary unless Trump is also allowed to be on the state’s ballot, and I demand that Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, and Nikki Haley to do the same immediately – or else they are tacitly endorsing this illegal maneuver, which will have disastrous consequences for our country,” Ramaswamy posted on X, calling out his fellow candidates in the GOP presidential primary.
“This is what an actual attack on democracy looks like in an un-American, unconstitutional, and unprecedented decision, a cabal of Democrat judges are barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado. Having tried every trick in the book to eliminate President Trump from running in this election, the bipartisan Establishment is now deploying a new tactic to bar him from ever holding office again: the 14th Amendment,” his post also read.
“What I will say is I do not believe Donald Trump should be prevented from being President of the United States, by any court,” Chris Christie said, adding, “I think he should be prevented from being the President of the United States by the voters of this country.”
The ruling will be placed on hold until January 4, pending Trump’s appeal to the US Supreme Court, which could settle the matter for the nation.
The state Supreme Court decision only applies to Colorado, but the historic ruling will roil the 2024 presidential campaign. Colorado election officials have said the matter needs to be settled by January 5, which is the statutory deadline to set the list of candidates for the GOP primary scheduled for March 5.

This verdict is totally undemocratic, since Trump has not been convicted in any court of law or any jurisdiction of insurrection. What happened could be construed as a riot and not a insurrection. This will be appealed in the US Supreme Court. Till then, it is not enforceable. Also it is up to Colarado Secretary of State to accept this or not to accept it.

There are few things that can happen, the US Solicitor General can over throw the decision of the Colorado Supreme Court and also the 9th Circuit Court can overthrow the decision, since this ruling is based on Trump being convicted of insurrection, the point of the matter is, he has never been convicted of insurrection in any jurisdiction or a court of law. This is a bogus ruling with 4/3 decision which is blatantly politically motivated and this will backfire on the Democratic party…which is already happening.

I have the following comments on the above excerpt of the article.
* Ramaswami’s pledge to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary reinforces the suspicion most people have in that he is in the race only to help Trump win the nomination because he knows that as brilliant as he is, he doesn’t have what it takes to be president in terms of knowledge, experience, and judgment. So, he has always defended Trump in debates and public statements and glorified whatever little Trump accomplished in his four year term as a president.
* Since Ramaswami knows that he cannot win the nomination and Trump has a commanding and ever increasing lead in the polls, he will not mind it if Trump offers him a cabinet position should he win the general election of 2024. He knows that Trump is loyalty freak.
*Last I checked, Ramaswami has no legal background, so what qualifies him to second guess the judgment of Colorado Supreme Court? I personally would vote till we find out what US Supreme Court thinks about the resurrection case against Trump, although, it’s not clear how the highest court of the nation would rule in this case, considering that the conservative justices have a 6 to 3 majority and 3 of the 6 conservative justices were appointed by Trump, I hope their ruling will be fair and nonpartisan, but everyone remembers what happened in year 2000 in the Gore vs Bush case.
* Ramaswami is a blind supporter of Trump and unabashedly imitates Trump, so much so that he has earned the nickname, “The Skinny Trump”

Everything boils down to technical wording “Engaged in Insurrection or Overthrowing Government” the Supreme US Supreme Court will have to decipher the language and see if the decision of the Colorado Supreme Court will hold Water. Also the decision the narrow -4/3 .
General Flynn ,also thinks Vivek, will make anexcellent Secretary of the Treasury. Other areas he will brilliance will show is Secretary of State and Homeland Security, He will not make a good vice president since the job has limited scope other than traveling and attending funerals of foreign leaders.
Obama who is the most influential Democrat has hinted that Biden will not be re-elected and also the Democrats have lost all the backing of Union, Muslim , affluent Jewish donirs and Asian and Hispanic votes.
