MUMBAI-Hollywood actor Rami Malek and ‘Bridgerton’ star Simone Ashley will join Prince William at the 2026 Earthshot Prize Awards Night in Mumbai in November.
The event will also feature actor Alia Bhatt and former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as award presenters. Ashley and singer Shreya Ghoshal will perform, while filmmaker and producer Karan Johar will host the evening.
Earthshot Ambassadors Robert Irwin and Nomzamo Mbatha are also set to attend. Around 5,000 guests are expected at the awards night, which will bring together scientists, entrepreneurs, community changemakers, Indigenous leaders and young innovators working on environmental challenges.
Ashley, who performed at Windsor Castle in June to mark the fifth anniversary of the Earthshot Prize, said she was looking forward to being part of the Mumbai event.
Malek, who attended the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Boston in 2022, said the awards offered an opportunity to highlight people working on solutions to environmental problems.
Bhatt said the prize was about hope backed by ideas and action, while Tendulkar said it recognized people turning ideas into solutions for the planet.
The 2026 edition has 15 finalists competing across five categories: Protect and Restore Nature, Clean Our Air, Revive Our Oceans, Build a Waste-Free World and Fix Our Climate. Five winners will receive £1 million each to advance or scale their solutions.
For the first time, the awards night will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video, reaching audiences in more than 240 countries and territories in more than 40 languages.
Prince William founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020 with a 10-year goal of finding and supporting solutions to some of the planet’s most pressing environmental problems. Since its launch, the initiative has identified more than 5,600 emerging environmental innovations from 156 countries.
