ATLANTA, GA – Filmmaker Sanjay Arora won the Best Director Award at the South Asian International Film Festival of Florida 2025, held from February 21 to 23. The award was presented for his critically acclaimed film 2 Khet (Two Farms), a poignant narrative that captivated audiences with its deep storytelling and artistic depth.
Arora said, “It’s an honor to see 2 Khet resonating with audiences and critics alike, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this story with the world.”
The film’s success at the festival highlights Arora’s talent for crafting emotionally compelling stories. The recognition also comes on the heels of his latest project, You Are Early, which was screened at the festival. This film, a collaboration with a Singaporean production house and featuring a talented cast of Singaporean actors, received an overwhelmingly positive response. Arora expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “It’s been amazing working with such a dynamic team, and seeing You Are Early connect with audiences was truly rewarding.”
The Best Director Award at the South Asian International Film Festival adds to Arora’s growing list of accolades. In September 2024, his film Once Upon a Time in Lahore won Best Film and Best Actor in a Short Film at the India International Film Festival of Boston. His past directorial projects, include Butterfly Wings, Once Again, and Expression.

Currently, Arora is in pre-production for his upcoming feature film, Vapsi, which explores the emotional journey of aging parents living alone in India while their only son resides abroad. “With Vapsi, I want to challenge the conventional definition of success,” Arora explained. “Is success about career achievements, or is it about the relationships and people who stand by you when it matters most?”
As Arora continues to work, he says he remains committed to creating thought-provoking, socially relevant cinema that resonates with audiences.
