Shilpa Shinde Responds To Backlash After False Allegation Confession

MUMBAI- Actress Shilpa Shinde, best known for playing Angoori Bhabhi in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!’, has urged people to stop spreading what she described as false narratives about her case following recent controversy surrounding her remarks about the 2016 allegations involving the show’s producer, Sanjay Kohli.

Shilpa shared a video on social media, seeking to clarify her position and asking people to read the FIR she filed before drawing conclusions.

In the video, she said many people have portrayed Sanjay Kohli as a victim after her recent comments, while overlooking what she claims she experienced during the dispute.

“Lekin un logon ne mere sath kya kiya ye bhi unlogon ko bolna padega, kyunki tit for tat hota hai (They will also have to share what they did to me because it is always tit for tat),” she said.

Shilpa also urged people to review the contents of her FIR before reacting to the controversy.

“Ussmein (FIR copy) maine saaf saaf shabdon mein likha hai ki unhone mera haath pakda mujhe apni taraf kheecha… Kisi ke maai ke laal mein himmat nahi hai woh karne ki (I have mentioned clearly in the FIR copy that he had pulled my hand towards him… no one has the guts to do that),” she said.

In the caption accompanying the post, Shilpa wrote: “KEEP DOING YOUR JOB PR but Stop spreading false narratives about the case. Sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual behavior that makes a person feel uncomfortable, intimidated, humiliated, or offended. Unwanted physical contact, sexual comments or jokes, inappropriate messages or images, repeated unwanted advances, sexually suggestive gestures…So stop circulating your own cooked theory. Jaago grahak jaago (people, please wake up)!”

The controversy erupted after Shilpa revealed on comedian Bharti Singh and writer-host Harssh Limbachiyaa’s podcast that she had made false sexual harassment allegations against ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!’ producer Sanjay Kohli during her 2016 exit from the show.

During the podcast, Shilpa said she filed the complaint because she felt she had no other way out of the dispute at the time and later reached a settlement. She also acknowledged that the allegations had damaged Kohli’s reputation.

Shilpa said she had wanted to speak about the matter earlier but refrained from doing so because both sides had agreed not to discuss the dispute publicly. (IANS)
