Tarun And Kosha Sharma Accused Of Drug And Sex Trafficking In Motel

ALEXANDRIA, VA.-Five individuals, including a husband-and-wife team who operated the Red-Carpet Inn in Dumfries, appeared before a federal judge here, on January 16 on charges tied to an drug distribution operation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.
Court filings state that Kosha Sharma, 52, and her husband, Tarun Sharma, 55, leased and managed the motel through their company, Kosha LLC, beginning in May 2023. Prosecutors allege the Sharmas collected a portion of proceeds from drugs and prostitution on the motel’s third floor.
Investigators documented nine prostitution encounters and 15 controlled narcotics buys at the property between May 28 and December 17, 2025. According to the complaint, 51-year-old Margo Waldon Pierce conducted all 15 alleged drug transactions, which involved fentanyl in eleven cases and cocaine in four.
Two additional defendants were arrested for their alleged involvement at the same location.
All five are charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including fentanyl. The offense carries a mandatory minimum of ten years in prison if convicted. Sentencing would be determined by a federal district court judge under the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines.
