California Student Takes Third Place at Regeneron ISEF 2026

PHOENIX, AZ– California high-school freshman Yookta Pandit has secured a 3rd Place Grand Award at the 2026 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The competition, held here, featured nearly 1,800 young scientists and innovators from more than 60 countries, regions, and territories.
Pandit competed in the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics category, earning a $1,200 award for her research project, “A Multimodal Approach to Real-Time Seizure Prediction Using Discreet Wearables.” Her work focuses on using wearable technology for real-time seizure prediction.
As a freshman, Pandit stood out among a field of finalists ranging from 9th to 12th grade. Participants at the Regeneron ISEF qualify for the global stage after winning at Society-affiliated local, regional, state, or national science fairs.
The event is recognized as a premier international platform for high-school students to present original research. Pandit’s award recognizes her contribution to the field of bioinformatics and her analytical approach to health-focused technology.
