Salman Khan Moves Court To Stop ‘Kaala Hiran’ Release

MUMBAI — Bollywood actor Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking to stop the release of the film ‘Kaala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’.

Khan has filed a petition seeking permanent and interim injunctions against filmmaker Amit Jani, Jani Firefox Films, Bharat Shrinath, Akshay Pandey and others, requesting that they be restrained from the production, development, financing, distribution, direction and promotion of the film.

In the petition, Khan alleged that the film’s poster and promotional materials violate his personality rights by misusing his name, image and public identity for commercial gain without his consent. He argued that the project could harm his reputation and legal interests.

Before moving the court, Khan had sent a legal notice to the makers of the film seeking an immediate halt to its development and promotion.

Khan contended that the project appears to be inspired by his long-running blackbuck case and could damage his reputation while potentially interfering with ongoing judicial proceedings.

The notice further stated that the blackbuck case remains pending before the Rajasthan High Court and that the release of the film could prejudice the administration of justice.

The case stems from allegations that Khan hunted two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in September 1998 during the shooting of the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. (IANS)
