ISELIN, NJ – Thousands of visitors gathered on Oak Tree Road on October 25 for the first-ever Diwali celebration on the iconic New Jersey street, with cultural performances, a live Ramlila, music and giveaways.

Organized by Renascent Media under its #OakTreeStories initiative and presented by title sponsor Raj Jewels Bansal Group, the event brought together families, local businesses, national brands, artists and community members at the Raj Jewels parking lot.

A major attraction was a Ramlila presented by Pandit Satya Narayan Charka and 40 classically trained artists. The performance brought the story of Lord Ram to life through dance, elaborate costumes and English narration.

The festivities were hosted by radio personality Guru Kulraaj Anand, influencers Aarti Mohindru and Milie Rajput, and RJ Sidhhi of Radio Mirchi.

The event also featured giveaways, including four gold bars presented by Raj Jewels Bansal Group. Bobby Bansal said hosting the celebration was a proud moment for the business and an opportunity for families and local businesses to come together around their shared traditions.

A diamond ring was also contributed by Suhag Jewelers. Participating national brands offered free product samples, promotional giveaways and interactive activities, while free mehndi was available to visitors.

The celebration was the second major event organized under #OakTreeStories, an initiative focused on promoting local businesses, celebrating cultural heritage and building what organizers describe as a Cleaner, Greener and Stronger Oak Tree Road.

Tanvi Prenita Chandra, founder and president of Renascent Media, said the initiative aims to bring businesses and the community together while encouraging residents and visitors to support local commerce.

“Oak Tree Road is more than a shopping destination. It is the heart of our South Asian community and represents the dreams and entrepreneurial spirit of generations,” Chandra said, adding that the turnout at the inaugural Diwali celebration was special for the organizers. Renascent Media is a woman-owned advertising, marketing and media agency, has more than two decades of experience connecting mainstream brands with South Asian and multicultural audiences across North America.

The event followed a Bollywood Jamming program held October 10, which included a community cleanup drive and the unveiling of a painted public bench.

Organizers thanked the Township of Woodbridge, local officials, participating artists, volunteers and community supporters for their cooperation in staging the celebration.
