Sejal Mehta Named To Board Of South Arts

ATLANTA, GA – South Arts, a nonprofit regional arts organization dedicated to empowering artists, organizations, and communities while increasing access to arts and culture, has announced the addition of Sejal Mehta to its esteemed Board of Directors.
A passionate advocate for the arts, Mehta brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the creative sector. She currently serves on the boards of the North Carolina Arts Council and International Focus of North Carolina. In addition to her board service, she has an extensive background in various aspects of the arts and legal fields.
Her diverse professional journey includes previous roles on the board of the Raleigh Little Theater and Raleigh Review. She also contributed to the Raleigh Review as a member of the fiction staff. Her commitment to the arts extends to her involvement in the production of short films and commercials in both New York and the Triangle region.
Mehta has worked as a contract attorney for Duke Energy, served as an attorney at the New York Medical Examiner’s Office, and worked as a prosecutor in the Queens District Attorney’s Office in New York City.
Sejal Mehta is married to Jay Chaudhuri, the Democratic State Senator in North Carolina. Along with their two teenage children, they make their home in Raleigh, North Carolina.
South Arts is a nonprofit regional arts organization headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Its mission is to empower artists, organizations, and communities and increase access to arts and culture. South Arts partners with the National Endowment for the Arts and State Arts Agencies of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, along with additional support from public and private donors.
