After Sonakshi Claps Back, Mukesh Khanna Apologizes
MUMBAI (ANI) – After Sonakshi Sinha responded to Mukesh Khanna’s controversial remarks about her and her father, Shatrughan Sinha, the Mahabharat actor clarified his stance.
In an Instagram story, Khanna stated, “I am surprised you took so much time to react. I had no malicious intent to malign you or your father, who is my senior and someone I respect. My intention was to address today’s Gen-Z, which relies heavily on Google and Wikipedia for knowledge, ignoring the wealth of wisdom in our culture and history.”
Referring to Sonakshi’s earlier appearance on a quiz show where she couldn’t answer a Ramayana-related question, Khanna added, “I regret discussing this in an interview. It won’t be repeated. Take care.”
Sonakshi had earlier responded strongly via Instagram, defending her upbringing and values. She wrote, “Mukesh Khanna ji, you claim it’s my father’s fault I didn’t answer a question about the Ramayana correctly years ago. Let me remind you, two women on the hot seat that day didn’t know the answer, yet you keep taking my name for obvious reasons.”
She continued, “If Lord Ram could forgive Manthara, Kaikeyi, and even Ravan, surely you can let go of this trivial matter. Not that I need your forgiveness, but I do need you to stop bringing up this incident to stay in the news at my and my family’s expense.”
Sonakshi concluded, “The values my father instilled in me taught me to respond respectfully, despite your distasteful remarks. I wish you well.”
