Rajnath Tells Parliament India Ended Conflict On Its Own Terms
NEW DELHI – Defense Minister Rajnath Singh told Parliament on July 28 that India ended its military conflict with Pakistan in May after fulfilling all its strategic aims, dismissing suggestions that the truce was the result of outside pressure or foreign mediation.
Singh’s statement came hours after the Indian Army confirmed it had killed three terrorists linked to the Pahalgam attack.
“India concluded its operations only after achieving every political and military objective that had been identified before and during the conflict,” Singh said during a parliamentary debate on the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Taking direct aim at claims by President Donald Trump that he brokered peace between the two countries, Singh declared: “To suggest that the operation was called off under pressure is baseless and entirely incorrect.” (IANS)
