No More Juggling Projects – A.R. Rahman Decides To Slow Down

CHENNAI – Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, known for his iconic music that has inspired generations, says he is consciously slowing down to focus on family and personal growth after decades of an all-consuming career.

Reflecting on his early years, Rahman admitted that his relentless pace often came at the cost of his personal life. “Before, I was like a maniac, working day and night. You sometimes miss life when you work too much,” he said.

He recalled juggling multiple films at once and being constantly worried about what lay ahead. Over time, he realized the need to step back. “I’ve reduced a lot so that I can enjoy life, learn things, spend time with family, and do work at the same time,” Rahman explained, describing his new approach as going with the flow.

The composer’s decision signals a shift in priorities, as he now seeks balance between his professional commitments and family time.

Rahman’s personal life has also been in the spotlight following reports of a divorce, which he has not addressed publicly. He married Saira Banu in 1995, and the couple raised three children together: daughters Khatija and Rahima and son A.R. Ameen.(IANS)
