MUMBAI – Actress Sumona Chakravarti has spoken about the kind of stories that linger long after a book is finished, reflecting on themes of heartbreak, healing, and the quiet comfort of familiar emotions.

Sharing her thoughts on a recent read, the actress said some narratives do not reveal their depth immediately, but slowly grow on the reader, offering moments of laughter, nostalgia, and calm once everything falls into place.

Sumona was referring to Dolly Alderton’s novel ‘Good Material.’ She said the book did not fully draw her in at first, but the final 50 to 60 pages brought clarity and emotional payoff, making earlier portions that felt slow suddenly meaningful.

“If you’ve ever had your heart broken, pick this up,” she wrote. “You’ll laugh. You’ll feel nostalgic. So much of it will resonate. A bittersweet memory might surface. You may smile with teary eyes. If you’ve healed, you’ll laugh freely. If you haven’t, it offers a gentle third person perspective. Tender, funny and quietly comforting.”

She also shared a personal reading habit, noting that alternating between reading a book and watching an OTT show has worked well for her this year, calling it a “win-win” for a self-described book lover.

Sumona Chakravarti is best known for her roles in the television drama ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’ and the comedy show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil.’ (IANS)
