Raja Krishnamoorthi Casts Early Ballot In Illinois Primary

SCHAUMBURG, IL– Raja Krishnamoorthi trying to make history as the first Indian American to get elected as a US senator, on March 2 cast his ballot early in the Illinois Primary Election, marking the start of the campaign’s final 15-day stretch.
Krishnamoorthi voted at the Trickster Cultural Center in Schaumburg, the community he has represented in Congress for nearly a decade. He was accompanied by his wife, Priya, along with friends, neighbors and supporters.
Addressing voters after casting his ballot, Krishnamoorthi underscored the importance of civic participation. “Today, alongside my wife, Priya, I was proud to cast my ballot and take part in the most fundamental act of our democracy,” Raja said. “I encourage every Illinoisan to make a plan to vote and make your voice heard in this historic primary election. Over the next 15 days, my team and I will leave it all on the field, working nonstop to meet voters where they are and bring our message to every corner of Illinois.”
With early voting underway and the primary approaching, Krishnamoorthi’s campaign said it is intensifying outreach efforts statewide as voters finalize their decisions in the closing weeks of the race.
