WASHINGTON, DC – Vice President JD Vance has leased part of a historic farm in Virginia as an additional home for his family, CNN reported.

The home is meant primarily for Vance’s wife and the couple’s four children, offering them a place away from the public attention that comes with living in Washington. Vance is expected to stay there occasionally, while the family’s official residence will continue to be the vice president’s home at the Naval Observatory.

Vance’s personal attorney, Chris Ashby, said the vice president would pay market rent for the lease.

“The rent will be at fair market value, determined with reference to the rent for comparable properties in the area,” Ashby said in a statement.

The leased home is part of Wolver Hill Farm, a nearly 500-acre estate on the outskirts of Middleburg, Virginia, an affluent town a little over an hour’s drive from Washington, D.C.

The estate is owned by a firm led by Charles Kuhn, founder of a moving company that has handled White House relocations for several US presidents, including President Donald Trump. The business has also been a longtime US government contractor.
