HAF Podcast on Hinduism Wins 2026 Religion Media Honor

WASHINGTON, DC -The podcast ‘All About Hinduism’, produced by Hindu American Foundation, has received the 2026 Award of Merit in the Specialty Programming, Podcast Series category from the Religion Communicators Council.

The award was presented April 16 as part of the DeRose-Hinkhouse Memorial Awards, which recognize excellence in religious communications and public relations among active council members.

The 23-episode educational series explores the core beliefs of Hinduism, its history, commonly asked questions about the faith, and contemporary issues affecting Hindus. Hinduism is widely recognized as the world’s third-largest religion.

Series 2 was produced, written, narrated and edited by Mat McDermott. Script development support was provided by Dr. Vijay Satnarine and Devala Gupta.

McDermott said the recognition was especially meaningful at a time when anti-Hindu sentiment and misconceptions have increased in parts of the United States.

“I’m deeply happy that my colleagues at the Religion Communicators Council have again honored ‘All About Hinduism’ with a 2026 DeRose-Hinkhouse Award,” McDermott said in a statement.

He added that the podcast was created to address misunderstandings about Hinduism, explain the religion’s basics to the broader public, and improve religious and cultural literacy.

The first series of ‘All About Hinduism’also received the same honor in 2024.
