Akshay Bhatia Climbs Into Top-10 At Doral With Strong Third Round

MIAMI, FL – Golfer Akshay Bhatia delivered a confident display on the third day of the Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral here, significantly improving his position on the leaderboard.

Known as “moving day” in golf, the third round proved exactly that for Akshay Bhatia, as he climbed into the top 10 with one of the standout rounds of the tournament.

Bhatia carded a five-under-par 67, highlighted by four birdies and an eagle. Despite dropping a shot, his aggressive yet controlled approach helped him jump 18 places — from tied 26th to tied 8th.

With a cumulative score of seven-under-par after three rounds, Akshay Bhatia is well placed for a top-10 finish and another strong result this season, having already secured a win earlier this year.

His round gathered momentum early, with birdies on the third, fifth, eighth, and tenth holes. The highlight came at the par-5 12th, where he made an eagle to reach six-under for the day.

However, a bogey on the same hole slightly checked his progress and pushed him just outside the top five. Even so, his performance showcased consistency and resilience heading into the final round.

Among other players, Canadian golfer Sudarshan Yellamaraju is tied 37th after a round of 75, while Indian American Sahith Theegala slipped to tied 63rd after carding a 74. Both will look to improve their standings in the final round. (IANS)
