Trisha’s Emotional Appearance At Vijay’s Swearing-In Goes Viral

CHENNAI – Actor Trisha Krishnan sparked fresh online discussion after sharing a cryptic social media post hours after actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay was sworn in as Tamil Nadu’s 13th Chief Minister on May 10.

Trisha posted, “The love is always louder,” along with a blue heart emoji. The message quickly gained attention online following widespread discussion around her presence at Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony in Chennai.

Many fans interpreted the post as reflecting the emotional atmosphere surrounding the event and the actor’s association with Vijay. She is said to be dating the new chief minister. A few weeks before he was elected, they attended a film industry wedding together in matching attire.

Trisha arrived at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in a teal-and-gold saree accompanied by her mother, Uma Krishnan. Videos of her entering the venue and interacting with guests soon circulated widely across social media.

A clip shared by regional outlet Polimer News also showed the actor appearing emotional during Vijay’s inaugural address. Trisha was seen smiling while holding back tears as Vijay delivered his first speech as Chief Minister.

Briefly speaking to reporters after being told it was a “big day for Tamil Nadu,” Trisha added, “Looking forward.”

The ceremony was attended by several film personalities and political leaders, while actors Kamal Haasan, Pawan Kalyan, R. Madhavan and Prakash Raj were among those who congratulated Vijay following the swearing-in.

Online conversation around the event also focused on the absence of Vijay’s estranged wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, and their children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha. Vijay’s parents, Shoba and S.A. Chandrasekhar, were present at the ceremony.

Reports earlier this year stated that Sangeetha had filed for divorce after nearly three decades of marriage, citing infidelity and mental distress.

During his address, Vijay struck a grounded tone while speaking about his new role.

“I am not some divine messenger or prophet. I am just an ordinary human being living a normal life. I will never deceive you with false promises. I will only promise what is possible,” Vijay said.

He also described his government as the beginning of “a new era of secular, social justice” for Tamil Nadu.

Trisha and Vijay have shared screen space in several Tamil films over the years, including GhilliThirupaachiAathiKuruvi and Leo. Trisha also appeared in the song “Matta” from Vijay’s 2024 film The GOAT.
