US Officials Likely To Visit India In June For Trade Talks
NEW DELHI- A team of US officials is expected to visit India next month to continue bilateral trade talks, although the exact dates have not been finalized yet, Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said on May 15.
India’s Commerce Ministry officials had visited Washington in April for a round of meetings with their US counterparts to finalize the details of the proposed interim trade pact, which is expected to be signed ahead of the broader India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal said India remains engaged with the United States in trade negotiations and the agreement would be signed at an appropriate time.
India and the United States made progress on key issues such as market access, non-tariff measures, technical barriers to trade, customs and trade facilitation, investment promotion, economic security alignment, and digital trade during the latest round of negotiations held in Washington from April 20 to 23, according to the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
