DALLAS, TX – Blue Origin successfully launched its 30th New Shepard mission and 10th human spaceflight on February 25, marking another milestone in its space tourism program. The mission carried six passengers beyond the Kármán Line, the internationally recognized boundary of space.
Among the crew was Indian American Tushar Shah, a partner and co-head of research at a New York-based quantitative hedge fund. Shah, who holds a PhD in high-energy experimental particle physics from MIT, joined fellow astronauts Lane Bess, Jesús Calleja, Elaine Chia Hyde, Dr. Richard Scott, and an undisclosed sixth crew member.
Lifting off from Blue Origin’s West Texas launch site, the NS-30 mission brought the total number of people flown to space by New Shepard to 52. The flight was streamed live on Blue Origin’s website.
Beyond his professional achievements, Shah and his wife, Sara, are dedicated philanthropists, focusing on initiatives in poverty alleviation, health, and education.
