NEW YORK, NY – Radio host Charlamagne Tha God pressed Vivek Ramaswamy on his departure from the “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), casting doubt on his explanation.
During an interview on The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne questioned whether Ramaswamy was forced out of DOGE, which he was supposed to co-lead with Elon Musk. Ramaswamy, now eyeing a run for Ohio governor, insisted the decision was mutual.
“It was a slightly different vision from where we started to where we landed,” Ramaswamy said, as reported by Mediaite. He explained that his role initially focused on assessing the legal grounds for downsizing the federal government, but with Musk’s involvement, the project shifted toward a technology-driven approach.
Ramaswamy maintained that he and Musk had “slightly different approaches” but remained on “good terms.” He dismissed claims of internal friction, stating, “What he and I both concluded, and I think this is right, is given my focus on law, on legislation, the right way to realize my vision is through elected office, so that’s what I’m going to be pursuing.”
Charlamagne pushed back, citing reports that suggested Ramaswamy was pushed out due to disagreements with Musk. “I would say that we arrived at it pretty mutually,” Ramaswamy reiterated.
Unconvinced, Charlamagne bluntly responded, “I hear you, Vivek. I don’t believe you. I think you either got pushed out, or you know that it’s going to implode. I think that you know Elon is going to crash and burn.”

It’s simple, Vivek could not carry enough of Elon’s suitcases on his head, so he was fired.
