
Dipen Parekh Named CEO Of University Of Miami Health System

CORAL GABLES, FL – Dr. Dipen J. Parekh has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the University of Miami Health System (UHealth) and Executive Vice President for Health Affairs at the University of Miami, effective immediately. The University’s Board of Trustees approved the decision unanimously.
A recognized urologic oncologist and healthcare leader, Parekh has served as UHealth’s Chief Operating Officer since 2020, playing a key role in its rise as a leading academic medical center. He joined the university in 2012 as Chair of the Department of Urology.
Parekh also founded the Desai Sethi Urology Institute and holds an endowed professorship in urology.
He has performed over 6,000 robotic urologic cancer surgeries and led major clinical research, including a landmark 2018 Lancet study on robotic-assisted bladder cancer surgery.
“Dr. Parekh brings unmatched credibility as a surgeon, scientist, and administrator,” said Stuart Miller, Chair of the UHealth Board of Directors.
Parekh will continue to treat patients while leading UHealth’s clinical, academic, and research missions. “Together with our faculty, staff, and partners at Jackson Health System, we will advance a bold vision for academic medicine focused on collaboration, compassion, and excellence,” he said.
