LOS ANGELES, CA – Kabir Singh, the comedian who rose to prominence as a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent Season 16, passed away on December 4 at the age of 39. Known affectionately as “Kabeezy,” Singh captured audiences with his sharp wit and relatable humor, leaving a lasting impression on the entertainment world.

Born in Portland, Oregon, to Indian immigrant parents, Singh’s early life was marked by cultural duality that later became a cornerstone of his comedy. He spent part of his childhood in Mumbai before returning to the U.S., where his experiences inspired much of his material.

Singh began his stand-up journey in local clubs, steadily building a reputation as a sharp, engaging performer. His humor eventually earned him a spot on Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Revolution, and his comedic voice was featured on iconic platforms like Family Guy and the BBC.

In 2021, Singh gained national attention with his performances on America’s Got Talent. He charmed judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, making it to the semi-finals. His ability to find humor in everyday struggles resonated with audiences, cementing his status as a rising star in comedy.

Despite his success, Singh’s health had reportedly been a concern in recent years. Law enforcement sources have indicated that his death in the San Francisco Bay Area may have been due to natural causes, though toxicology results are pending.

Tributes poured in following the news of his passing. Jeremy Curry, a close friend, shared on Facebook that Singh “passed away peacefully in his sleep.” Curry added, “He brought joy and laughter to so many, and his incredible talent will be missed.” Singh’s funeral is scheduled for December 14 in Hayward, California.

America’s Got Talent also paid tribute, describing Singh as “a talented comedian who graced our stage with his undeniable humor.”

In his last year, Singh continued performing across the U.S., bringing smiles to audiences even as he navigated personal challenges. His legacy as a trailblazer for South Asian comedians and a voice for cultural authenticity endures.

Singh is survived by his fiancée and his family.
