Kim Kardashian’s Skims Brand Heads To India

LOS ANGELES, CA – Kim Kardashian’s shapewear label Skims is headed to India through a partnership with Reliance Brands, which will introduce the globally recognized brand to Indian consumers as international fashion and beauty labels continue to expand their presence in the country.

The launch will begin in Delhi and Mumbai, with the brand becoming available through both retail stores and online platforms, the companies announced August 5.

For Kardashian, the India launch marks another step in Skims’ international expansion. The co-founder and chief creative officer said the response from the brand’s community in India has been encouraging even before its official arrival. She added that Skims was founded on the idea of helping people feel comfortable and confident in what they wear and said the company looks forward to welcoming Indian customers into its stores for the first time.

Isha Ambani, director of Reliance Retail Ventures the brand connects with a new generation of Indian shoppers looking for fashion that is both aspirational and designed with them in.

Earlier this year, Nykaa partnered with Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty and also introduced Nars Cosmetics, owned by Japan’s Shiseido Group, to the Indian market.

Founded in 2019, Skims was valued at $5 billion after raising $225 million in funding.
