Lauki Ka Halwa

Ingredients

Bottle gourd (grated)1 medium size
Sugar¼ cup
Ghee (clarified butter)1 tbsp
Coconut powder1 tsp
Cardamom (powder)¼ tsp

Method

  1. Grate the bottle gourd.
  2. Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the grated bottle gourd.
  3. Allow to simmer for 20 minutes, covered with a lid. Stir occasionally.
  4. Add the sugar and cardamom powder. Stir-cook the mixture until the ghee starts separating from the halwa.
  5. Cool the halwa, then sprinkle coconut powder on top before serving.
