Madhavan, Mammootty Thank Audiences After Receiving Padma Honors

MUMBAI/CHENNAI — Actor R. Madhavan and Malayalam superstar Mammootty expressed gratitude to the Government of India, the film industry and their audiences after receiving prestigious Padma honors from President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Madhavan, who recently starred in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, received the Padma Shri and dedicated the honor to the “magical world of cinema.”

Sharing a message on Instagram, Madhavan said he was “deeply humbled and profoundly grateful” to receive one of India’s highest civilian honors.

“To every person who watched my films, embraced my characters, celebrated my successes, forgave my shortcomings, and stood by me through the years, this honor belongs as much to you as it does to me,” he wrote.

“I dedicate this honor to the magical world of cinema, to every artist and technician who has walked alongside me and to my family who have been my strength,” he added.

Mammootty, who received the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, also dedicated the recognition to cinema and credited audiences for their support throughout a career spanning more than five decades.

“Deeply humbled and honored to be conferred with the Padma Bhushan. My sincere gratitude to the Government of India for this prestigious recognition,” Mammootty said in a message shared through his production house.

The Malayalam cinema icon said the honor reflected a journey made possible by his audience.

“Thank you for the endless love, trust, and support that keeps me going every single day. I dedicate this to the beautiful world of cinema and all of you,” he said. (IANS)
