Poorna Jagannathan Reveals Ranbir Kapoor’s Role In Funding Her Play Nirbhaya
NEW DELHI (ANI)– Indian American actor Poorna Jagannathan recently shared how Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor supported her by investing in her play Nirbhaya after they worked together in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Poorna described Ranbir as “generous” and recalled how he was the first to contribute financially to Nirbhaya, which went on to tour globally for three years.
“I loved working with Ayan (Mukerji) and Ranbir. It was such a privilege. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was an important film for me because of my friendship with them and the impact it had on my life. Ranbir’s generosity truly made a difference,” she said.
Currently, Poorna is gaining praise for her role in Deli Boys, a comedy series about two Pakistani-American brothers who unexpectedly inherit their father’s illegal empire after his sudden death. She expressed pride in being part of a South Asian-led project, emphasizing its cultural authenticity and representation.
