Pramila Jayapal Calls For SC Ethics Overhaul As Impartiality of Justice Clarence Thomas Comes Under Fire

WASHINGTON, DC – Conservative Supreme Court Justice Thomas Clarence’s ties to billionaire GOP donor, the Dallas businessman Harlan Crow has sent shockwaves through the country. Earlier, his wife Ginni, a Republican activist herself, had been questioned by the January 6 committee for her ties in that riot.
With the couple removing the veneer of neutrality from the Supreme Court, they have become the object of rancor that has also affected the image of the institution itself.
Among those criticizing Clarence Thomas for accepting and not reporting luxury trips on private yachts and planes and gifts, which have the potential to influence his judgments, is Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).
“It’s time for a major ethical overhaul of our highest court — that’s why @Sen. Elizabeth Warren and I have a bill to impose a code of conduct on our judicial system. People deserve impartial judges and justices who aren’t beholden to special interests or to their personal agenda,” she tweeted.
In another tweet, commenting on a New York Times report she said, “are already concerns of a conflict of interest surrounding Justice Thomas and his wife’s efforts to overturn a free and fair election.”

Total agreement with Congresswoman Jaypal about the conflict of interest ethical issues. The judiciary should not give even an appearance of conflict of interest. The receipt of anything of value should be promptly reported.

It is a matter of great shame that our Supreme Court has been politicized. Justice Thomas makes more than enough money to take these trips on his own. When a highest court of justice can be influenced, downfall of that country is inevitable. Downfall is likely to be accelerated by the division of the country.

Shobha Rani who posted meaningless accusations against Pramila Jaypal does not know what is fact and what is fiction. Justice Thoms who is shamefully known as Uncle Tom is totally corrupt. His wife is a Christian religious bigot and crook doing all kinds of things to deny the election result of 2020 where Joe Biden won and became president. Rep. Jaypal condemning this kind of behavior is not out of line at all. Shame on you Shobha Rani.
