Salim Merchant Surprises Sonu Nigam With Times Square Display
NEW YORK, NY – Music composer Salim Merchant marked Diwali with a grand celebration at Times Square, which doubled as a special moment for Sonu Nigam.
Salim presented Sonu with a thoughtful Diwali gift tied to their upcoming annual musical initiative, Bhoomi 2025.
On October 19, Salim posted a video from Times Square, featuring their collaboration on the big screen, expressing his joy: “Feeling so happy to take Indian music to the world! Bhoomi 2025.” Salim was heard in the video specifically thanking Sonu Nigam for the track “Jogiya,” saying, “Her Jogiya on Times Square. Wow. Thank you, Sonu Nigam, Paradox and Shraddha Pandit. It feels awesome really.”
This year’s Bhoomi, curated by Salim and Sulaiman Merchant, spans diverse genres and notably includes high-energy dance numbers from Sonu Nigam and Paradox alongside other celebrated artists.
