Shaan’s Son Maahi Talks About Family And Legacy Pressure

MUMBAI (IANS)- “Jaan Se Zyada,” the latest single by Maahi—son of veteran singer Shaan—holds deep personal significance for the rising artist. It’s the first time he has featured both his parents in a music video, making the project especially meaningful.

Alongside Maahi and his parents, the music video also stars actor Aadhya Anand.

“This song is extremely close to my heart,” Maahi shared. “It’s my first release where I’ve allowed myself to express so much emotion and vulnerability. What makes it even more special is having my parents be a part of it. I think I’ll keep watching this video for the rest of my life.”

When asked about comparisons to his father and whether the song was crafted to sound different from Shaan’s signature style, Maahi responded thoughtfully: “The song itself is beautiful, and I naturally brought my own style to it, which made it sound a little different. But honestly, if Dad had sung it, it would’ve sounded incredible in that classic Shaan way we all love.”

On dealing with expectations, Maahi admitted, “Dad doesn’t put pressure on me directly. But yes, there’s definitely a sense of responsibility in carrying forward his legacy. I think a little pressure is good—it pushes you to work harder.”
