The Enduring Magic Of Papon’s Hit ‘Humnava’
MUMBAI (IANS)- Playback singer Papon is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his iconic song “Humnava” from the film “Hamari Adhuri Kahani.” Released in 2015, this heartbreak ballad quickly became a beloved Bollywood hit.
Composed by Mithoon and penned by Sayeed Quadri, the song resonated deeply with listeners through its poignant lyrics and Papon’s evocative vocals.
Papon shared a unique anecdote about the song’s creation, revealing how his rendition influenced the visual direction of its music video. “When I recorded ‘Humnava,’ Mohit Suri and Mithoon had a different version in mind, and the song was already shot,” Papon recalled.
“After hearing my recording,” Papon continued, “Mithoon spoke to Mohit and came back saying, ‘This isn’t what we expected, but it’s something really beautiful.’ Mohit liked it so much, he decided to reshoot the video to match the new feel.”
This unexpected turn of events made “Humnava” one of Papon’s most memorable recordings.
Reflecting on its enduring appeal, Papon stated, “’Humnava’ was more than just a song for me — it was an emotion I poured my soul into.” He added, “The love and emotion the song carries seem to transcend time, and that keeps it alive in people’s hearts.”
