Umesh Dahal Succumbs To Injuries Trying To Stop Fight At Nepali Concert

NASHVILLE, TN – Umesh Dahal, 41, was attending a concert by the Nepali band Mantra, in the lower level of Topgolf here, when an argument erupted inside, causing people to leave and go into the parking lot, police said.
Metro Nashville Police Department said Dahal was trying to break up the fight when he was punched, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete. The perpetrator did not stop and kicked Dahal in the head even while he lay beaten on the ground.
Punched badly, Umesh Dahal, trying to do a good turn was rushed to hospital but after battling injuries, the father of two young girls succumbed on July 2.
Police have identified Bishal Rai, 26, as the man who kicked Dahal while he was on the ground. With Dahal’s passing, the charges have been now been changed to criminal homicide instead of just aggravated assault. Police are also looking to see who else was involved.
The Daily Mail reported that Umesh was married to Damanta Kafley Dahal, 44, who is originally from Jhapa in Nepal.
