USISPF Appoints Tarun Bajaj Chair Of US-India Tax Forum

NEW YORK, NY – The US-India Tax Forum, an initiative established by the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), has appointed Tarun Bajaj, former Revenue Secretary and former Secretary of Economic Affairs to the Government of India, as the head of the Forum. Having commenced his tenure as Advisor to the Board of Directors at USISPF in January 2024, Bajaj now assumes the leadership of the US-India Tax Forum.

With a distinguished career in the Indian Administrative Service, belonging to the 1988 batch of the Haryana Cadre, Bajaj brings a wealth of experience and expertise in economic affairs and taxation matters, a press release said. Bajaj played a crucial role in managing both direct and indirect tax revenues, notably stabilizing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), it said.

Bajaj’s was also instrumental in formulating India’s economic response to the pandemic, including the implementation of relief measures and economic stimulus packages.
