Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Says God, Not AI, Powers His Bat

NEW CHANDIGARH-Rajasthan Royals young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has responded with humor to viral claims that his bat contains an “AI chip,” saying whatever power it has was installed by God.

In a video released by Rajasthan Royals on X, the batter said, “God has given it to me. He himself said something is installed in my bat. I am using that.”

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s remarks came after Pakistani sports analyst Nauman Niaz jokingly questioned the source of the teenager’s power-hitting ability.

During the show ‘Smaash Hit’, Nauman Niaz said, “Think about it. What is this kid? Get his bat checked. Like WADA conducts dope tests, send him to a lab. He probably used an AI chip in his bat. He is unreal. What a player.”

He added, “When you’re 18, your body builds muscle… this one is just 16. He doesn’t have the power game as much as he has technique… he used the full 360 degree.”

The buzz around the Rajasthan Royals opener grew further after his latest innings against Punjab Kings on April 28, when he scored 43 runs off 16 balls to give his side a rapid start in the chase.

Apart from his attacking strokeplay, his consistency has also stood out this season. In nine matches, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has scored 400 runs at an average of 44.44 and a strike rate of 238.10.

His tally includes one century and two half-centuries, placing him among the leading run-scorers of the season. He is currently the holder of the Orange Cap, ahead of players such as Abhishek Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. (IANS)
