MILPITAS, CA – The first preview of the upcoming women’s cricket drama ‘Boundaries’, a feature film from Visual Narrative Films, will debut in the Bay Area on November 16. The trailer will be showcased at the Drifts CineShorts Festival, held at Century Theaters in Great Mall, Milpitas, CA.

Directed by Kirandeep Karnati, ‘Boundaries’ carries the subtitle ‘Breaking Barriers One Game at a Time’. Using the sport of cricket as its backdrop, the film explores themes of gender, identity, and belonging within the South Asian diaspora.

Karnati describes the film as “a story about breaking stereotypes and redefining roles within a community,” adding that it “speaks to the heart of human resilience and the power of unity.” He calls it a tribute to those who “dare to dream beyond the confines of societal expectations.”

Cinematography is by Unni Rav, founder of Visual Narrative Films. Rav noted that ‘Boundaries’ “illuminates stories we don’t often see in sports films” and “challenges how we view women and immigrants in sports and in society.” His visual approach aims to merge the emotional depth of South Asian storytelling with the cinematic style of Hollywood.

Producer Olga Gabris said that as audiences follow “a determined group of women reclaiming their independence through cricket,” they will witness “a story of transformation, humor, and triumph that invites everyone to question their own limits.”

The majority of filming took place in Mountain House, California. The ensemble cast features South Asian actors with backgrounds in short films, theater, and Bollywood cinema.
