
Yash Raj Drops Title Track Of DDLJ Musical
MUMBAI, (ANI)- Yash Raj Films has released the title song from Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical, the stage adaptation of the iconic 1995 Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), ahead of its UK premiere.
Composed by Vishal and Shekhar with lyrics by Nell Benjamin, the track sets the tone for the highly anticipated musical, which opens at the Manchester Opera House on May 29 and runs until June 21, 2025.
Directed by Aditya Chopra, who helmed the original film, the production stars Jena Pandya as Simran and Ashley Day as Roger. The show aims to blend Indian storytelling with a global musical theatre format.
Speaking about the title song, Shekhar Ravjiani said, “Creating music for Come Fall In Love – The DDLJ Musical has been a joy. This track is incredibly special, and I’m sure audiences will love it. It captures the heart of the story and builds anticipation for the premiere.”
Vishal Dadlani added, “Working on this musical has been immensely satisfying. With the title track, we wanted to evoke nostalgia for Indian audiences while introducing Western viewers to the richness of India’s culture, music, and cinema.”
The musical features 18 original English songs and brings together a talented creative team, including lyricist Nell Benjamin, choreographer Rob Ashford, and Shruti Merchant as co-choreographer for Indian dance elements.
