2,223,000 Lamps Lit – Ayodhya Sets Guinness Record

AYODHYA, (ANI) – The city of Ayodhya which had set a record last year by lighting up 1,576,000 diyas, upped the ante and this year on Diwali, had 2,223,000 of the earthen lamps lit up at one site at same time.

The Guinness Book of World Records officially recognized the Uttar Pradesh government’s the ‘Deepotsav.’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who attended the celebrations received the record certificate.

According to Adityanath, the government is spending billions of rupees to develop the city and modernize Ayodhya in advance of Ram Mandir’s construction. The inauguration of the temple will reportedly be held on January 22, 2024.
