Farah Khan Had Major Financial Struggles After Father’s Flop Film

MUMBAI-In the upcoming episode of ‘Wheel of Fortune’, host and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar shared an emotional and inspiring anecdote about choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan, recalling a difficult phase from her childhood after her father’s professional setbacks.

Akshay Kumar highlighted Farah Khan’s love for films from an early age and spoke about the struggles she faced during those years.

Revealing the incident, Akshay Kumar said, “Since childhood, Farah was very fond of watching films. Whenever you liked a movie, you would buy its soundtrack record.”

He further added, “Then a tragedy happened with them—her father produced a film, but it didn’t do well. After that, she had to sell all her records.”

Correcting him, Farah said, “First, I sold the record player.” Akshay Kumar continued, “Yes, first the record player was sold, and then all the records. And look at her today—through her hard work, she breaks records herself!”

She has often spoken about a childhood marked by financial struggle after the decline of her father’s career.

Farah’s father Kamran Khan was a stuntman who later became a filmmaker. He faced severe financial hardship after his film ‘Aisa Bhi Hota Hai’ failed and another big-budget project collapsed.

After the setbacks, he struggled with alcoholism, which created tension within the family.

Farah later entered Bollywood as a background dancer before becoming a hugely successful choreographer and filmmaker. (IANS)
