MUMBAI- Singer and music composer Vishal Dadlani shared an anecdote about the creation of the iconic Hindi song ‘Chingari Koi Bhadke’ during an appearance on the reality show Indian Idol.

Vishal recalled how legendary composer R. D. Burman, fondly known as Pancham Da, had worked through the night to create the tune and later gave it to Anand Bakshi to write the lyrics. He added that while returning home in the rain, Bakshi was trying to light a cigarette, but the lighter would not work because of the downpour.

“That is when the line ‘Chingari koi bhadke toh saawan use bujhaye’ struck him,” Vishal said.

Vishal also praised the legendary musicians for turning ordinary moments into timeless art.

The song ‘Chingari Koi Bhadke’ was featured in the 1972 Hindi film ‘Amar Prem,’ starring Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. The track was sung by Kishore Kumar. (IANS)
