Biba Founder Meena Bindra, Lavanya Nalli Lead Fashion Power List

MUMBAI – Meena Bindra, Lavanya Nalli, Anita Dongre, Ritu Kumar and Simran Lal lead the 2026 Candere Hurun India Women Leaders List in the Fashion & Lifestyle category, highlighting the continued influence of women entrepreneurs, designers and business leaders in India’s fashion industry.
The annual rankings feature both established brands and a new generation of design entrepreneurs who have built businesses across ethnic wear, couture, contemporary fashion and lifestyle products.
Topping the list is 83-year-old Meena Bindra, founder and chairperson of BIBA, whose company reported annual revenue of Rs 758 crore. Bindra started the ready-to-wear ethnic wear brand from her home in Delhi in 1988 and grew it into one of India’s best-known names in affordable ethnic fashion.
Second on the list is Lavanya Nalli, vice chairperson of Nalli Silks, with annual revenue of Rs 622 crore. Designer Anita Dongre ranks third, with the House of Anita Dongre reporting revenue of Rs 368 crore.
Veteran couturier Ritu Kumar is ranked fourth, followed by Simran Lal of Nicobar in fifth place.
The list also includes Anita Lal of Good Earth, Shivani Poddar and Tanvi Malik of Indya, designer Anamika Khanna and Masaba Gupta of the House of Masaba.
At 36, Gupta is the youngest honoree in the Fashion & Lifestyle category, reflecting the growing presence of a new generation of entrepreneurs alongside some of the industry’s most established names.
