Mamdani Team Inundated With More Than 50,000 Resumes

NEW YORK, NY – New York City’s incoming administration is drawing significant attention from job seekers and donors alike. More than 50,000 people have applied to work for Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s team through the transition’s resume portal, signaling strong interest in joining the city government.

“The sheer number of applicants speaks to the excitement at the heart of this movement — one that has inspired people to believe that government can put working people first,” Mamdani said in a written statement.

Mamdani’s transition team said it is still accepting applications and is particularly seeking community organizers, policy experts, government veterans, and working New Yorkers, as well as qualified candidates from elsewhere who can quickly contribute.

The surge in applicants follows another milestone, with the transition committee raising $517,947 from over 7,000 donors in less than 30 hours. It is a sum that exceeds the first-term transition fundraising totals of the last two mayors combined.
